Multiplication Challenge
| In an intrepid display of mental quickness and athletic prowess, third graders at Saint Mary of the Hills School in Milton engaged in their first-ever “Multiplication Challenge” on Tuesday, March 28th. With classmates cheering them on for support, students took turns sprinting to a center table, where they were confronted with a multiplication problem; the first third grade class to complete every problem was declared the winner. Even under mental duress, students performed superbly, and the excitement was high in the school hall that afternoon. The event was organized by Assistant Principal Lisa Fasano, in an effort to reinforce those critical math skills that must be mastered at the third grade level. By all accounts, it was a success; and as every third grader will tell you, they cannot wait for the next challenge! |
