All Saints Day Mass celebrated by Kindergarten & Sixth Grade

On November 1, 2007 the sixth grade students along with their Kindergarten buddies celebrated the mass of All Saints Day. This is a day that we commemorate the men and women who have become saints in the Catholic Church. Their lives are full of examples of how we should act in our everyday lives. The entire school sang “When the Saints Come Marching In”, to welcome the seven kindergarteners who were dressed as various patron saints of education. Mass included Christian Rock Music led by Youth Group leader Frank Connell Jr. and Life-Teen Musician Jon Niven. Fifth grade teacher Bob McDermott and eighth grade student James McDermott accompanied them on guitar. All of the sixth grade students participated in the mass in some way. At the conclusion of mass, the sixth graders led everyone in singing, “I’m Trading My Sorrows”. After Mass the sixth graders, their parents and teachers enjoyed some refreshments in the lower church. We are certainly blessed for all the Saints who shared their faith on earth; we hope that their selfless lives will continue to inspire us. |
