The Grade 6 class recently participated in the first annual Poetry Jam.. They began their study of poetry with the Riverside Theatre in Hyde Park coming in to their class with an exciting introduction and lesson in poetry. The students researched many different poems which covered many topics across the curriculum. In class the students studied different poetic syles of writing and then wrote their own originals. Their work was put into a binder and shared with family and friends at the Poetry Jam. Each student got up and read their favorite poem. It was a wonderful way for the students to proudly share all of their hard work!
