Penny Wars

PENNY WARS!! The war is OVER! It was an exciting week at St. Mary of the Hills with a war of the grades, but a peaceful resolution was found! This was an unbelievably successful fundraiser and students and teachers alike cannot wait to hear the results! The money was raised for Make a Wish Foundation. Mr. Paris will announce the grade winner of a breakfast hosted by Mrs. Etienne and himself! To re-cap, the rules were the class that has the most pennies wins. There are a lot more than pennies in those jars - nickels, dimes, quarters, etc., have a "negative" value! So, our jars are full of lots of money and Mr. Paris will prove his math skills in calculating the negative and positive value of each grade's money jar! We will let you know the outcome. What a fun way for a healthy competition and making a difference in a child's life. Sorry to all the parents who lost their life savings in change, but I'm sure your conscience got the best of you!

The fifth-grade with the help of everyone at St. Mary of the Hills School raised $2,253.16 for Make-A-Wish Foundation!!!! I could not believe it when the total came out. This makes the goal of $7,000 look that much more attainable than I ever imagined!
