We would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Camara (parents of Mariama) for sharing the celebration of Kwanzaa with the fourth grade.

Kwanzaa is based on seven principles known as "Nguzo Saba". It lasts from December 26th to January 1st. Each of the seven days is dedicated to one of the principles;

Day 1 - Unity
Day 2 - Self-determination
Day 3 - Collective work and responsibility
Day 4 - Cooperative economics
Day 5 - Purpose
Day 6 - Faith

Mr. and Mrs. Camara invited some of the students to set a Kwanzaa table and shared musical instruments with the class. They concluded this wonderful presentation by giving each student a book mark with the colors of Kwanzaa- black, green, and red.
