State Fair

On Thursday, May 7, 2009, the fourth grade hosted a State Fair in the school hall. Each student was responsible for researching and completing information on their assigned state for the fair. Students displayed their information on a tri-fold poster board and completed a written report as well. The students came dressed as either a famous person or some type of product from their state. There was Will Smith from Pennsylvania, a cowgirl from Texas, and Dorothy from Kansas. Some students brought food from their state as well. There was Mississippi Mud Ice Cream from Mississippi, craw fish from Louisiana, tamales from New Mexico, and flaxseed granola from North Dakota. The students sang “The 50 States Song” and “This Land is Your Land” for the audience.
