Ascension Thursday Mass

On May 21, 2009, the 3rd graders at Saint Mary of the Hills school celebrated Ascension Thursday with the entire school community. This year the mass was very unique since it was celebrated with the May Crowning. The Mass was a celebration of when Christ ascended into heaven 40 days after Easter Sunday. Along with readings and prayers, the students also brought forth gifts. The traditional bread and wine were presented, as well as a plaque of St. Francis, I Can Make a Difference book, rosary beads, and a globe. Special flowers were presented in honor of Mary. Students also wrote their own petitions. Thank you to Mrs. Flynn, Mrs. Fedewa and Mr. Frank Connell for singing beautiful songs at our mass. |
