Leap Year Birthdays
| How unusual is it to have a birthday on February 29? Only one out of every 1460 people has a birthday on Leap Year Day. In a school the size of St. Mary of the Hills, with 400 hundred students, there is about a 24% chance that there would be one student born on February 29, but only a 3% chance that there would be more than one. We actually have two students with this birthday! Francesca Coyne, in Grade 2, will be celebrating her second birthday this week. Conor Tallon, in Grade 6, will finally have his third birthday. It must be very exciting for them to be able to celebrate on their actual birthday, which only happens every four years. Happy Birthday!!! |
