| Name of Activity/Club: Continental Math League Days of Participation: Wednesday mornings Times: 7:50 - 8:40 Cost: $30.00 General Description of Club: St. Mary of the Hills School and parent volunteers join together to kick off the before school Math League. This program will enrich your child's math experience in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. The problems provided for the children are chosen from The Continental Math League, an organization dedicated to improving young math minds. All of the work is presented in the form of "word problems". We have based this program on similar successful "leagues" ongoing in the Milton Public Schools. The league will meet at St. Mary's School where we will tackle the assigned math problems in small groups led by parent volunteers. Homework will be provided and encouraged, but not required. Working with your child at home will substantially improve his/her confidence to tackle the challenging problems presented in this small group setting. The Math League will be successful ONLY if we have enough parent volunteers and one adult for every 3 or 4 children is the minimum.
